The role and function of the oil filter
In order to reduce the frictional resistance between the relatively moving parts in the engine and reduce the wear of the parts, the oil is continuously delivered to the friction surfaces of the moving parts to form a lubricating oil film for lubrication.
The oil itself contains a certain amount of gum, impurities, moisture and additives. At the same time, during the working process of the engine, the introduction of metal grinding debris, the entry of impurities in the air, and the generation of oil oxides will increase the impurities in the oil. If the oil is not filtered, it will enter the oil circuit directly. The impurities in the belt are brought to the friction surface of the motion pair, which accelerates the damage of the parts.
Type of oil filter
There are three levels of oil filters, namely oil filter, oil strainer and oil fine filter.
1. The filter is installed in the oil pan of the oil pump, generally adopting the metal filter type.
2. The oil coarse filter is installed behind the oil pump and is connected in series with the main oil passage. There are mainly metal scraper type, sawdust filter type and microporous filter paper type. Now, the microporous filter paper type is mainly used.
3. The oil fine filter is installed in parallel with the main oil passage after the oil pump, mainly including microporous filter paper type and rotor type. The rotor type oil filter adopts centrifugal filtration and has no filter element, which effectively solves the contradiction between the oil passage and the filtration efficiency.

Replace engine oil filter steps
To ensure safe operation, you should pay attention to the following changes to the transmitter oil filter: park the car on a flat field, if the site is tilted, the old oil will not be discharged.
When replacing the engine oil filter, it is best to choose before the vehicle is out. If the engine is running, stop it for at least 30 minutes, so that the oil can be fully returned to the oil sump.
(1) Remove the oil drain plug and drain the engine oil
(2) After the discharge is completed, wipe the oil drain plug. Reinstall the oil drain plug and tighten as described below.
(3) Loosen the oil filter with the oil filter wrench.
(4) Apply engine oil to the O-ring of the new oil filter.
(5) Screw the new oil filter on the oil filter holder by hand and know that the filter O-ring is in contact with the mounting surface. In order to properly tighten the oil filter, pay attention to the identification of the filter O-shape. The precise position of the ring in initial contact with the mounting surface.
(6) After contact with the mounting surface, tighten the filter 3/4 turn with the oil filter wrench
Replacement of integral oil filter
Most of the automobile engines use an integral oil filter, and the filter element is not removable. When the impurity blocks the filter element and the resistance of the oil flow increases, the oil filter must be replaced as a whole.
When the oil filter is replaced, it needs to be removed with a special tool and clean the oil filter installation plane to prevent impurities from affecting the sealing effect, and then apply clean oil to the seal of the new oil filter.
Tighten the oil filter by hand until you feel resistance, then tighten the 3/4 turn with a special tool. Be sure to start the engine and check for any oil leaks in the filter.
Decomposable oil filter
Place an oil basin on the oil drain plug of the engine oil sump, remove the oil drain plug, and drain the old oil.
When the old oil in the oil pan is drained, use a filter wrench to remove the filter element and take a new filter element. Now apply a layer of oil to the O-ring of the filter element and screw the filter element to the screw by hand. Do not move.
Do not tighten the filter with a filter wrench to prevent damage to the O-ring and cause oil leakage.
Also start the engine after installation and observe the filter for leaks under idle conditions.
If there is any leakage, the oil seal rubber ring should be removed to eliminate oil leakage.
